Shasta Disabled Sports USA (SDS) is teaming up with the Mt. Shasta Nordic Ski Organization to host a Nordic Snow Play Day at the Mt. Shasta Nordic Center on Saturday, February 6th, 10:00 am - 1:00pm. A day of cross country skiing and snowshoeing is planned. There will be a potluck lunch and fire to keep all participants warm and energized. All ages and disabilities are welcome; the event is free to participants. Shasta Disabled Sports is asking that participants call ahead to make reservations so that all special needs for participants can be met. Specially trained volunteers will be available to assist participants throughout the day. For more information or to make reservations, call 530-925-1531 or email info@shastadsusa.org
A new X-Country sit-ski will be available for use at the Mt. Shasta Nordic Center. This specialized piece of adaptive equipment was recently purchased by Shasta Disabled Sports with grant funding from the McConnell Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation and from Mountain Wheelers.
