Mt. Shasta Nordic kicks off Annual Membership Drive

The Mt. Shasta Nordic Ski Organization is gearing up for the 2009 / 2010 winter season and has announced the opening of its annual membership drive. The Membership Application form is available online at www.mtshastanordic.org or by calling (530)926-3935. Mt. Shasta Nordic is a community-supported non-profit whose mission is to facilitate quality Nordic ski experiences. Mt. Shasta Nordic operates the Mt. Shasta Nordic Center, a groomed trail facility, which will be open for operation this winter season.

“There is something special that goes on up on the mountain in the winter: a community-owned, community-focused, community supported Nordic Center,” states Executive Director, Laurel Harkness. “With access to 20km of groomed trails in a majestic setting, the Nordic Center provides a destination for friends and families to meet up and enjoy the best of what Mt. Shasta has to offer.”

Staying true to its mission and vision, Mt. Shasta Nordic is keeping access to the Nordic Center open to all.  “Mt. Shasta Nordic needs continual community support in order to keep the Nordic Center in operation, “emphasizes Harkness. “ There is a cost to operating and maintaining the trails, and this requires strong annual support from members.”

Mt. Shasta Nordic members enjoy discounts on Mt. Shasta Nordic sponsored events and programs, as well as lessons and rentals. Mt. Shasta Nordic Ski Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit; memberships and donations are tax deductible.
