Youth Nordic Ski Team
The Youth Developmental Nordic Ski Program is intended
to encourage as many Siskiyou County youth as possible
to participate in the sport of cross-country skiing.
The youth program will hold regular meetings throughout
the ski season in which participants will receive expert
instruction from program volunteers and head out on
the snow for group skis. We are also planning a field
trip to the Lake Tahoe area between February 15-18th
at which we will watch the CNISSF High School Nordic
Championships and ski at Tahoe Nordic centers.

Cross-country skiing is a healthy and stimulating way
to get outdoors in the winter. It is a challenging and
physically demanding sport that can be enjoyed for a
lifetime. The discipline that it takes to become a proficient
Nordic skier is likely to cross over to a young person's
school and work life. The conditioning will no doubt
improve his or her ability to excel in other sports.
Our goal is to make this program available to all Siskiyou
youth regardless of financial constraints. We request
that the participant join MSNSO. As a non-profit organization,
many of our programs are donation-based, but do carry
a specific cost. If you are unable to pay for the expenses
of this program, please let us know and we will assist
to ensure that all who want to participate may. Conversely,
if you are able to make an additional contribution to
help another young skier in need, your assistance will
be greatly appreciated.
